Based on his play in the Avon game, our inaugural Pizza Plus player of the week is Sam Brown. A returning All-SWC starter at offensive guard, Sam was pressed into service at defensive tackle against Avon as Aaron Grunick was too sick to play. In addition to playing his usual solid game on offense, Sam made a bunch of big defensive plays. He forced a fumble that turned into a quick seven points, and stopped several runs for losses.
