"Shoremen at
the Next Level"
November 4, 2006
It’s
gotten so common that it’s hardly news any more. Matt Kostelnik tallied his fourth TD of the
year as #1 Mount Union defeated John Carroll, 31-14. Matt returned an interception 29 yards to
open the scoring for the Purple Raiders. The junior strong safety also chipped
in with two tackles. In Saturday’s other
action:
· Andrew Means caught one ball for 4 yards
in Indiana’s 63-26 loss to Minnesota.
· Trey Stross suffered a shoulder sprain
early in Iowa’s game Saturday while making a touchdown saving tackle on a
fumble return. The Hawkeye’s dropped a
21-7 decision to Northwestern
· Jon Schroeder carried twice for six yards
for Ashland. Ferris State beat the
Eagles, 33-17.
· 2006 ALHS grad Chris Rau saw his first
significant action Saturday for Georgetown.
Chris was in at safety in the closing moments, recording his first
collegiate tackle to help preserve a 24-21 Hoya victory over Marist.
