The
biggest news in Ohio college football Saturday
was Mount Union’s 21-14 loss to Ohio
Northern. It was the Purple Raiders’
first regular season defeat since 1994. Matt Kostelnik had eight tackles for
the Raiders and added his first college touchdown* when he returned a blocked punt 42 yards for a score. Check out the photos of Matt in the College
Corner photo gallery.
In
Saturday’s other action:
- Zach Lewis caught two passes for 34 yards and Shawn
Brunner had 7 tackles but Oberlin lost a heartbreaker to Wooster 20-19.
- The Findlay Oilers also dropped a close
one, losing to
Gannon by a 50-45 count. Stephen
Zywotek had two tackles for Findlay.
- Mercyhurst picked up a much-needed win,
defeating Indianapolis
28-24. Scott Bennett had one
tackle in the game for the Lakers.
*The offensive touchdown previously credited to Matt was actually the
Raiders’ other #9, WR Brandon Boehm.
