"Shoremen at
the Next Level"
October 16, 2005
There
was only one touchdown scored in Ashland
U.’s 7-3 win over Hilsdale College,
and it shouldn’t be hard for Shoremen fans to picture this scoring play. Jon Schroeder took a handoff in the second
quarter and raced 40 yards for all the points the Eagles would need. Overall, Jon had 11 carries for 63 yards
along with two receptions for 8 yards. So
far in 2005 he has 91 carries for 415 yards (4.6 avg.) and 5 TD’s.
In Saturday’s
other action:
- Shawn Brunner had 5 tackles and Zach Lewis
caught one pass for Oberlin, and the Yeomen defeated Earlham 13-10
- Matt Kostelnik had five tackles as Mount Union’s
whomped Marietta
59-7. Marietta only managed 39 total yards on
39 plays; their touchdown came on a fumble return. The Purple Raiders, meanwhile, rang up
40 first downs on a school record 755 yards of total offense.
